Watershed organization that monitors and restores wildlife and their habitat in the Kouchibouguac region of New Brunswick, Canada.

Our vision

The Greater Kouchibouguac Watershed Association wish to promote the value of community work in building a strong economy in a healthy ecosystem for future generations. GKWA envision a community that offers a superior quality of life, encourages economic and social development, and where the natural environment is healthy and accessible.

Our objectives

Our mandate

Our group intends to bring information and assistance to people in the community to enable them to take enlightened decisions, and to encourage behavior that will promote a healthy environment in ecological, economic and social terms. Our group also intends to take action through its restoration efforts and habitat improvement / preservation projects. Several activities will enable the group to accomplish its mandate:

  • The preparation of various educational activities enabling awareness among youth and any other person in the community;

  • The establishment of an information system to provide advice and information while establishing the link with government agencies when needed.

  • The completion of concrete work to improve the banks, fish habitat, water quality and the environment in general.
